Residency Description
Work Spaces
The property is a site specific playground
Artists are free to dance in the environment as long as they respect nature
The Crojik
A 52’ x 44’ Dance Deck with cedar boards
The deck has a shade space underneath the south side
The deck does not have any power or wifi
A bluetooth speaker is provided for artist audio needs
The Horton Bay Schoolhouse
a 24’ x 24’ one room schoolhouse that can be used as indoor/covered rehearsal space
Residency Requirements
To collectively decide a way to give a gift to the land everyday
To leave a gift for the next visitor or artist to inhabit the space
To engage with the public through an informal sharing, workshop, or TBD engagement
Stipend Details
Each of the resident artists (with a maximum of 4 artists) will receive a $575.00 stipend during the residency
The minimum residency length is a week
The maximum length is 2.5 weeks (this can be negotiated)
The stipend is the same regardless of residency length
Travel Details
The Croft will reimburse each artist for travel up to $500.00*
TVC Cherry Capital Airport is the nearest airport (we will pick up and drop off the artists at the airport)
If driving is possible, we highly recommend it.
*This amount will be negotiated with each artist. It covers either flight costs or mileage reimbursement for vehicles.

We have 2 residency openings available for projects with 4 collaborators, and 1 residency opening for 2 collaborators for Rootstock 24. If residency’s are granted to groups with less than 4 collaborators, our available openings will change. Also any applications in August need to be for a two week timeframe.
