As a residency we are not alone. As an arts organization we are stronger when we stand together with other organizations. Much like a stand of trees our roots and proximity to one another strengthen the collective. Stand is where we share our collaborations with other local arts organizations. Traverse City Dance Project
July 11th - 17th
The Traverse City Dance Project is incredibly grateful to start off our rehearsal process and summer season as guests of The Croft Dance Residency in Charlevoix, MI. This residency allows us space and time to began our creative process that will expand over the course of five weeks. The last two weeks will include a tour to underserved arts communities that do not have access to a professional theater. Our program includes special guests from the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, guest choreographer Kara Wilkes(former professional dancer and rehearsal director for Lines Ballet), as well as new works by Artistic Directors Jennifer McQuiston Lott and Brent Whitney. August 23rd - 28th
BAIRA / MVMNT PHLOSPHY is a dance-theatre multimedia company and life-practice lived and shared by Shaina and Bryan Baira. The two will be spending their time at the Croft Residency with collaborators reconnecting to a group practice for the first time since the pandemic and will continue focusing on their VR / immersive dance-theatre filmmaking.
